DCFD: High-current DC Disconnector for Solid Busbar Systems
The DCFD is G Corner's high-current DC disconnector designed for direct connection to solid busbar systems. With solid silver contacts, a visible open gap, and very high deformability tolerance as standard, it provides reliable off-load isolation across a wide current range from 6 kA to 90 kA, with both horizontal and vertical mounting orientations supported.
Product Description
The DCFD is a high-current DC disconnector rated from 6 kA to 90 kA at up to 1,500 Vdc, designed for off-load isolation in busbar and rectifier installations where a solid busbar interface is required. The moving contacts engage directly with the busbar system, creating a clearly visible open gap when in the isolated position. This gives operators immediate visual confirmation that the circuit is de-energised before any maintenance work begins.
Contacts are manufactured from solid silver, providing excellent conductivity and resistance to surface degradation in industrial environments. Busbar plates are available in copper or aluminium and can be connected to the busbar system by bolted or welded joints. The DCFD supports both horizontal and vertical mounting orientations, giving greater flexibility in how it is integrated into the busbar installation.
The DCFD features very high deformability tolerance as standard, with deformability values greater than those of the DCBD range. This allows the disconnector to absorb significant thermal expansion and contraction of the solid busbar system over its operational life without mechanical stress at the connection point. Higher deformability options are also available.
All G Corner products are engineered to the specific requirements of each application. The DCFD represents what we can achieve for high-current off-load disconnection on solid busbar systems - the exact configuration, current rating, and options will be developed with you to suit your installation.

Use cases
Typical Applications
Providing safe and reliable isolation of a circuit or section of plant before maintenance work begins. The DCFD's visible open gap gives operators immediate confirmation that the circuit is de-energised, supporting safe working practices and compliance with isolation procedures across a wide range of current ratings on solid busbar systems.
The DCFD can be used in polarity reversing applications, where the direction of current flow in a circuit needs to be switched. This is a function specific to the DCFD within the G Corner disconnector range.
