DCBD Single - high-current DC disconnector for laminated busbar systems
Gallery: DC Disconnector Close up
G Corner's DC Disconnectors provide safe, reliable isolation of high-current DC circuits under off-load conditions. A visible open gap gives operators clear confirmation that the circuit is de-energised before maintenance begins. Our range covers 6 kA to 168 kA at 1,500 Vdc across five product configurations for module-based, laminated busbar, and solid busbar installations.
Description
G Corner's DC disconnectors are engineered to provide operators with a secure, reliable, and clearly defined isolation point within their electrical circuits. Typically employing a large, visible open gap, they give operators full confidence that the circuit has been effectively de-energised before maintenance, system upgrades, or circuit reconfiguration work begins. They are opened and closed under off-load conditions and are not designed to interrupt current - attempting to do so would damage the contacts and reduce working life.
Our disconnectors are available in fixed and deformable versions. Deformable versions allow for the expansion and contraction of busbars during thermal cycling without the need for additional flexible busbars, reducing the cost and complexity of the system. Some configurations can also be manufactured with aluminium and copper inputs and outputs, or a combination of both, allowing customers to interface between busbar materials where required.
For applications requiring very high current handling, bespoke configurations combining multiple disconnector units into a single coordinated assembly are available. Our range covers 6 kA to 168 kA at 1,500 Vdc across five configurations. All products are engineered to order - the pages below show what is achievable and the exact specification will be developed with you to suit your application.
