ISO 9001:2015

This standard is a quality management system (QMS) standard that requires an organisation to meet its own requirements and those of its customers and regulators. It is based on the plan-do-check-act methodology, which helps organisations establish, implement, monitor and measure their processes to deliver results that align with the organisation’s requirements and continually improve performance by taking appropriate action.

ISO 9001 is made up of eight sections: scope, normative reference, terms and definitions, quality management system, management responsibility, resource management, product realisation and measurement, analysis and improvement. The first three sections provide general information about the standard, and the last five focus on how to implement it.

This standard provides guidance on how to consider multiple aspects of your business procurement, storage, distribution, product development and manufacturing. It reduces its impact on the environment. It also drives you to evaluate how you manage emergency response, customer expectations, stakeholders and your relationships with your local community.
